Emotional Healing–Be the Peace

Everywhere that we look we are being bombarded with images of hatred and confrontation. It is so easy to imagine that “they” are fighting with each other, but if we are honest with ourselves, aren’t we fighting something right now? The election stirs up feelings of us and them. Our internal tension brings about sharp retorts, and anxious worries. We ourselves are not at peace.

By using energy techniques such as The Pulse, or using prayer or meditation, we can bring ourselves to a place of inner peace. Once we feel back to our compassionate selves, we can more easily share that extra moment of patience or that smile for a stranger. Simple acts of kindness can break through some of the negative energy in an instant. Please take the time to return to your own sense of emotional balance, and then be the peace. I know it is simplistic in many ways but I believe that what we have control over is ourselves. I also believe that one random act of kindness or one intentional act of conciliation can create an ongoing circle of more peaceful energy that radiates out.

I know for myself that the tension in the air is thick, and people are feeling frightened and uncertain about the future. It takes my conscious effort to take myself away from that energy and to meditate until I feel calmer and more prepared to face whatever is coming. I have to make this choice several times a day. If I don’t have time to meditate, I may choose to repeat the short mantra for The Violet Flame that comes from Patricia Cota-Robles.

By repeating this mantra wherever I am , I am able to ground myself into the desire for peace–within myself and with whomever I am connecting.
