I have always had trouble with cloudy, rainy days. The moment I look out the window and notice that the skies are grey, I feel my mood plummet. And lately, it seems as though there have been more rainy days than I can recall in early summer. I have been wondering what I might learn from all these cloudy days, since they keep presenting themselves with such frequency. And I think I figured out something really important.
I realized that when I become so tuned into my external world–my surroundings, the weather, other people’s moods, all the tasks I need to complete–I lose contact with my inner world. I give away the power to create my world and instead allow myself to be buffeted about by circumstances. I feel off-balance, like a Weeble (who wobble but they don’t fall down).
To find my center and regain my balance, I need only to ground myself to the Earth and to my connection with the Divine. The simple act of grounding to Earth sends a cord of vibrant, magnetic energy through my center, linking me to the center of the Earth, holding me steady. The cord goes through the top of my head and into the heavens, to the Divine and to all my spirit guides and teachers. It’s like a buzzing right through my core, so strong that nothing could knock me off balance!
And then the weather becomes irrelevant, just something that is and that I no longer resist. No resistance to what is = no suffering. Aaahhh. Huge sigh of relief.
When you are feeling off balance, I invite you to experience this for yourself. Envision a golden white cord of energy that runs from the Earth’s core, directly through your center, through the top of your head, where it connects with Divine Source. It is a constant stream of energy that grounds you and reminds you of your own Divine nature.
